On the evening of Saturday, 6 June, the beautiful greens of Bari Alto Golf Club came alive with laughter, cheers, and the sound of joyful competition as families from across Southern Europe gathered for a very special occasion — the Family Golf Cup 2026, organised by the Family Golf Club.
This wasn’t just another golf event. It was a celebration of togetherness, friendly rivalry, and the shared love of the game across generations.
A True Mediterranean & European Gathering
Families travelled from all corners of the region, bringing a wonderful mix of cultures and energy to the course. Participants came from:
- Southern Italy’s vibrant golf communities
- Sicily’s passionate family players
- Malta’s enthusiastic golfing families
- Romania’s emerging junior and family golfers
The result? A warm, international atmosphere where language barriers melted away the moment the first tee shots were played.
Texas Scramble Fun on 4 Holes
The format for the evening was designed with one goal in mind: maximum fun for every family member.
Teams competed in a Texas Scramble format over 4 holes, encouraging teamwork, strategy, and lots of laughter. Parents and children played side by side, combining skills and sharing every shot.
From powerful drives to unexpected chip-ins and a few “lucky bounces” that became family legends, every hole told its own story.
The Winners of the First Passing Trophy
After an exciting round filled with smiles and friendly competition, the leaderboard was set:

As the sun set over Bari Alto, families gathered at the club for a relaxed and joyful dinner at Bari Alto Golf Club. Conversations flowed easily as players shared highlights, near-misses, and unforgettable shots from the course.
The evening culminated in a heartfelt award ceremony, where trophies were handed out, and memories were made.
