Golf Grows Girls Meetup

As part of the exciting Malta Junior Open 2026, the Family Golf Club proudly hosted the Golf Grows Girls Meet & Greet on 1 April 2026 at the Royal Malta Golf Club.

The gathering brought together young female golfers, their families, coaches, and supporters for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to encouraging more girls to discover, enjoy, and thrive in the game of golf.

Held during one of Malta’s premier junior golf events, the Meet & Greet created a wonderful opportunity for young players to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the growing community of girls in golf.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Golf is one of the few sports that can be played and enjoyed for a lifetime, and the Golf Grows Girls initiative aims to help more young girls see themselves as part of the future of the game.

The event welcomed participants of different ages and experience levels, from newcomers discovering golf for the first time to competitive junior golfers already participating in tournaments.

Throughout the gathering, the focus remained on encouragement, confidence-building, and creating a welcoming environment where every girl felt supported and valued.

Building Friendships Through Golf

One of the most valuable aspects of junior golf is the friendships that develop both on and off the course.

The Meet & Greet gave participants the opportunity to meet fellow young golfers, exchange stories about their golfing journeys, and build connections that may last for many years to come.

Parents also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with other golf families, sharing experiences and supporting one another as their children continue to develop in the sport.

Celebrating Female Participation in Golf

The event highlighted the importance of increasing female participation in golf and creating pathways for girls to remain engaged in the sport as they grow.

By bringing young female golfers together in a positive and supportive environment, the Golf Grows Girls initiative continues to demonstrate that golf is a game where everyone can succeed, regardless of age, background, or experience level.

The enthusiasm and energy displayed throughout the gathering showed that the future of girls’ golf is bright.

A Community Beyond Competition

While the Malta Junior Open showcased impressive performances and competitive golf, the Golf Grows Girls Meet & Greet focused on something equally important — community.

The gathering reminded everyone that golf is about much more than scores and trophies. It is about confidence, friendships, personal growth, and creating opportunities for young people to learn valuable life skills through sport.

Capturing Special Moments

The smiles, conversations, and shared experiences captured throughout the event tell the story better than words ever could.

From new friendships being formed to aspiring young golfers finding inspiration from one another, the gallery reflects the positive spirit that filled the Royal Malta Golf Club during the gathering.

Growing the Game, One Girl at a Time

The success of the Golf Grows Girls Meet & Greet demonstrates the power of creating opportunities specifically designed to support and encourage young female golfers.

The Family Golf Club would like to thank all participants, families, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to making the event such a meaningful part of the Malta Junior Open.

Together, we are helping to build a stronger, more inclusive future for golf — one where every girl feels welcome, confident, and excited to be part of the game.

Because when girls grow in golf, the game grows too.
